Meeting of the International Support Group for Lebanon [fr]
France hosted on 8 December in Paris a meeting of the International Support Group for Lebanon (ISG).
This meeting, opened by French President Emmanuel Macron, was co-chaired by French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian and UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, with the participation of the Lebanese Prime Minister, Saad Hariri.
This meeting was the opportunity to reaffirm the commitment of the international community to the stability, security and sovereignty of Lebanon. The ISG recalls in particular the necessity to protect Lebanon from the crises destabilizing the Middle-East and commends the role played by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in maintaining calm in the country.
